"Green Welfare" Makes People See, Feel and Surprise

In November, the land of northern Guangdong is still lush and green. The green trees on both sides of the road, the colorful garden landscape, the clear water and green banks of every river can be said to be full of green. Everywhere one can feel the surging power of construction of ecological civilization， and the vitality of green development. This is the "Green Welfare" brought about by our city's adherence to the construction of ecological civilization.

 

Since this year, our city has focused on "Planting More Trees".It has created 23 high-quality forest quality improvement classes and completed 195100 mu of forest optimization, accounting for nearly 110% of the annual forest optimization task of 177500 mu issued by the province. Adhering to the principle of "planting good trees" and adopting the mixed afforestation mode of "precious tree species plus", 4.98 million native broad-leaved and precious tree species such as high-quality camphor, Schima superba, Castanopsis hystrix, Nanmu and Acacia melanoxylon were planted. Implementing "managing trees well", completing 101300 mu of new afforestation tending and 115200 mu of forest tending, signing more than 20 annual afforestation "One Contract for Three Years" management and protection agreements, and fully implementing the management and protection responsibilities on more than 100 people.

 

Complete the annual planting task of county, town and village greening in an all-round way, and plant 1537000 trees in excess.Among them, nearly 4000 voluntary tree planting activities were carried out, involving more than 180000 people and 780000 trees. Provinces and municipalities jointly built "People's Congress Forest", Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao jointly built "Concentric Forest", and created more than 1000 thematic forests such as "Sangzi Forest", "Enterprise Forest" and "Youth Forest". Widely mobilize all sectors of society to participate in the greening construction of "four sides" and "five sides", with a total donation of 70.4045 million yuan (including intention and conversion of donated seedlings) and a total investment of over 100 million yuan. Reserve about 4.776 million high-quality green seedlings in counties, towns and villages in advance, and publish the information of green seedlings in time to prepare for the purchase and reserve of high-quality seedlings in 2025.

Promoting the precise improvement of forest quality along national and provincial highways and expressways in an orderly manner, the city's 59 high-speed exit corridors, 21 national and provincial trunk highways and 18 green road projects have completed a total of 239.33 kilometers of greening quality improvement, covering an area of 693 mu, upgrading or building 7 pocket parks, and planting a total of 173500 seedlings. Since last year, our city has focused on the increment of forest resources and comprehensively promoted the construction of green and beautiful ecology. Current, rate of whole town forest enclothes 74.59%.Forest stock reached 104 million cubic meters. The national forest city, the national forestry carbon sequestration pilot city, the national greening model city and the national construction of ecological civilization demonstration area have been continuously consolidated.
