Shaoguan’s agricultural products head to overseas markets

A ceremony to mark the construction of China(Shaoguan Guangdong) RCEP Edible Fungi International Trading Center and Shaoguan Agricultural Products Export Promotion Fair were held in Qujiang district of Shaoguan city. The activities aimed to enhance the competitiveness and influence of Shaoguans agricultural products in overseas markets.

 

With the count down 3, 2, 1... and a blast on the horns, three refrigerated trucks loaded with mushrooms for export set off. On July 25, A ceremony to mark the construction of China(Shaoguan Guangdong) RCEP Edible Fungi International Trading Center and Shaoguan Agricultural Products Export Promotion Fair were held in Qujiang district of Shaoguan city. Representatives from RCEP countries, people from enterprises of pre-made food and edible fungi, purchasers and reporters have witnessed the events in the venue and through on-line platforms. It is believed that the events will further promote high-quality development of Shaoguans agricultural industry. Mayor of Shaoguan municipality Chen Shaorong attended the events.

During the events, China(Shaoguan Guangdong) RCEP Edible Fungi International Trading Center was inaugurated, Shaoguan Pre-made Food Industry was formally established, Shaoguans key enterprises signed cooperation agreements with representatives from RECP countries, three refrigerated trucks loaded with edible fungi received inspections from customs and approved to be exported to Thailand under the witness of representatives of the events.  

 

In recent years, Shaoguan municipality fully implements Xi Jinpings thought on the importance of agriculture, rural areas and farmers,  adopting the mindset of promoting the industrialization of agriculture,and introducing market-based and project-based mechanism to build a modern agricultural industrial system of "Cross-county Industrial Cluster; One County, One Industrial Park; One Township, One Industry; One Village, One Product". Among them, Qujiang District gives full play to the advantages brought by the provincial Edible Fungi Industrial Park to drive the development of the edible fungi industry. At present, the annual output of edible fungi of Qujiang District exceeds 35,000 tons and the annual output value exceeds 1.84 billion yuan. The planting area and output of the main fungi account for 60% of the province's market share.

 

Shaoguan municipality seized the opportunities generated by the signing of RCEP agreement, and took the initiative to build a China (Shaoguan) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone to further promote international cooperation in agricultural industry. At the same time, Shaoguan focused more on the construction of agricultural parks to strengthen its agricultural products competitiveness in international market.

Shaoguan will keep promoting the development of its agricultural industry by making better use of the advantages of its resources and basic industries. Acting as a vegetable basket of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Shaoguan has built a distribution center to transport agricultural products to the Greater Bay Area. To enhance the international competitiveness and influence of its agricultural products, Shaoguan will build a China (Shaoguan, Guangdong) RCEP International Trading Center for Edible Mushrooms with functions of  agricultural products trading, cold chain storage, logistics distribution, production and processing, e-commerce, supply chain finance, customs inspection and customs clearance. The new trading center will facilitate the growth of the industries of edible fungi, orchids, fruits, tea, pre-made food and etc., and help to increase their market share in international markets.
