Guangdong Province Plans to Build Two Maglev Lines！

A High-speed Maglev Line May Connect Shaoguan to Guangzhou and Beijing!  

 

Recently, Department of Natural Resources of Guangdong Province released the "Guangdong Province Territorial Spatial Plan 2020-2035" (public version), outlining land use arrangement for the next 15 years in Guangdong.

 

According to the Plan, two high-speed maglev lines would be built in the future.

 

The Plan said that space will be used for construction of the two high-speed maglev lines linking Beijing and Shanghai to the province respectively.
 

The Shanghai,Shenzhen and Guangzhou line will link the costal cities like Shanwei while the Beijing,Hongkong and Macao line will link cities from south to the north like Guangzhou,Zhuhai and Shaoguan.

Guangdong Province has been working on the compilation of "Guangdong Province Territorial Spatial Plan 2020-2035" since July 2019, Based on the development pattern of "One Core, One Belt, and One Zone",Guangdong Province put forward the overall arrangement of the use and protection of land and space in the next 15 years. Aiming to build a better traffic system for urban and rural residents, The Plan proposes to build the "12312" traffic circle, including an 1-hour traffic circle in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area,Shantou-Chaozhou-Jieyang area and Zhanjiang-Maoming area respectively; and to build a 2-hour traffic circle from Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area to the eastern Guangdong-western Guangdong-North Guangdong areas; and a 3-hour access to major cities throughout the country and major cities in South-East Asia; a 12-hours access to major cities around the world.

 

In order to achieve the goals above, the Plan proposes to establish a comprehensive transportation system to connect with the key national transportation lines, promote the construction of high-speed railways, highways and high-grade waterway networks, and form a comprehensive transportation network which will have high efficiency and full capacity.

The Plan also proposes to reserve space for six key lines, including Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao high-speed maglev, Shanghai-Shenzhen-Guangzhou high-speed maglev, the high-speed railway from north Guangdong to coastal economic belt, the Qiongzhou Channel, the high-speed railway from east Guangdong to west Guangdong, and the high-speed railway in the northern ecological development area.

 

The news of two high-speed maglev lines would be built in the future attracted much attention from the public. Two maglev lines will link Beijing and Shanghai to Guangdong Province respectively.Both maglev lines will be converged in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong.
 

Maglev train can run at a speed of 600 km per hour, which is the most advanced railway technology today.Once the maglev line completed, it will take less than 3 hours to travel between Shanghai and Guangzhou,they are about 1600 km apart, and about 3.3 hours from Guangzhou to Beijing,they are about 2000 km apart, saving half of the time than traveling by bullet trains.

 

 

Once the Beijing-Hongkong-Macau maglev line completed, it will only take 3 hours to travel between Shaoguan and Beijing!

 

Shaoguan, as the north gate of Guangdong, is also an important traffic center in the province!We believe that it will be far more convenient for us to travel around in the near future.
